Private Stays at Château de Méridon

A private royal residence 40 minutes from Paris, reserved for one family at a time. We open it to only a handful of families each year.

Enquire privately →

When you stay at Château de Méridon, the whole estate is yours.

We privatise the château for one family at a time, with no other guests and no public events during your stay, and we never disclose who our residents are. It is one of the very few royal residences in the Île-de-France that can still be lived in this way.

The seven stays below follow the French calendar, from the clay courts of Roland Garros in May to Christmas by the fire in December. Each one is a starting point, and we adapt it to your family, your dates and the pace you want to keep.

May 23 – June 6, 2027 · 30 minutes from Court Philippe-Chatrier

Roland Garros at Château de Méridon

The French Open, with a private château to come home to.

Two weeks of clay-court tennis in Paris, and a quiet house in the country at the end of each day.

Every year at the end of May, Roland Garros takes over the west of Paris. Hotels in the 16th arrondissement are booked months ahead, and the lobbies of the palace hotels become an extension of the players' lounge.

Château de Méridon is thirty minutes from the Porte d'Auteuil. You spend the afternoon court-side, then drive back to five hectares of private parkland, a dinner cooked at the house and a night without noise. The tournament fits around your days, not the other way round.

The Experience

At the Tournament

Through our VIP network, we arrange seats on Philippe-Chatrier and Suzanne Lenglen, and access to the outer courts during qualifying. For the later rounds, from the quarterfinals to the finals, we book private hospitality suites so you can follow the matches in comfort, away from the crowd.

At the Château

In the evening, a private chef prepares dinner in the grand salon while the light lingers over the gardens. The natural pond is at its loveliest at this time of year, and the evenings are mild enough to do without the fires. Late spring is one of the loveliest times of year at Château de Méridon.

In Paris

The tournament fortnight is also a lively time in Paris. Galleries in Saint-Germain open their summer exhibitions, and we know which restaurants keep a table for those who ask. For a quieter start one morning, we can take you to Versailles at opening time, before the tour groups arrive.

What Is Included

  • Exclusive privatisation of the whole estate
  • All château spaces: salons, ballroom, glasshouse and parkland
  • Up to 34 overnight guests across 12 suites and bedrooms
  • Breakfast every day of your stay
  • Private chef for dinners, on request
  • VIP court access at Roland Garros 2027
  • Private car and driver throughout your stay
  • Daily transfers to and from Roland Garros (30 minutes)

Few places near Paris let you spend the afternoon at Roland Garros and the evening in a royal château, with only half an hour's drive between the two.

Roland Garros 2027 runs from May 23 to June 6, and we accept very few bookings for the fortnight.

A Summer Week at Château de Méridon

Five days of French summer, well away from the crowds.

While the Riviera fills up and the harbours crowd with yachts, Château de Méridon stays as quiet as it is the rest of the year.

In July and August, the Riviera, the Balearics and the Amalfi coast are at their busiest. At Château de Méridon, summer is the calmest season of all: five hectares of old parkland, and no one else on the estate.

The thick walls keep the château cool through the afternoon heat. The spring-fed natural pond, ringed with old stonework, is just as it has always been, and the Chevreuse forest begins at the end of the garden and runs on for miles. Paris, with its galleries, restaurants and couture houses, is forty minutes away by car.

The Five Days

Day One — Arrival

The estate is ready for you from 4pm. We serve Champagne and a table of summer produce on the forecourt, and there is time for a walk down to the natural pond in the evening light before dinner.

Days Two & Three — The Heart of Summer

Mornings start with a walk to the natural pond, its old stonework and still water catching the early light. Breakfast is served on the forecourt or in the Glasshouse. Afternoons are spent in the shade of the hundred-year-old trees, and in the evening we lay a candlelit table outside, or in the grand salon if you prefer.

Day Four — Paris

Whenever you feel like a day in Paris, your driver takes you in. You might see the Musée d'Orsay before it opens to the public, wander through the Marais, have lunch at a Michelin-starred restaurant or keep a private appointment with a couture house in the 8th arrondissement. You are back at Château de Méridon in time for dinner.

Day Five — Departure

Check-out isn't until 4pm, so there is time for a last breakfast in the garden and a final stroll by the pond. Quite a few families end up asking to stay a little longer.

What Is Included

  • Exclusive privatisation of the whole estate
  • Five hectares of private parkland
  • The natural spring-fed pond, at the heart of the parkland
  • All château spaces: salons, ballroom, glasshouse and forecourt
  • Up to 34 overnight guests across 12 suites and bedrooms
  • Welcome drinks and a summer table on arrival
  • Breakfast every day of your stay
  • Private chef, on request
  • Private car and driver throughout your stay
  • Transfers from CDG and Orly
  • Private access to Versailles, on request
  • A dedicated Châteaukeeper and household team
  • Professional security on site at all times

Fashion Week at Château de Méridon

A calm base outside Paris for the busiest weeks of the fashion calendar.

During Fashion Week, the hardest thing to find in Paris is a little quiet. Château de Méridon is forty minutes away.

Every January and September, the shows take over Paris. Hotels are full, lobbies are crowded, and the same people cross paths in the same rooms from morning to night.

Château de Méridon lets you live the week differently. The château is forty minutes from the shows and reserved for your family alone, and part of the week can even come to you, with presentations and fittings held at the house. You go into Paris each morning and come back in the evening to space and quiet.

At the Château

A Private Showroom in the Ballroom

A fashion house sets up a private presentation in the ballroom at Château de Méridon, shown only to you, ahead of the press and the buyers.

An Atelier at the Château

A Private Shoot

Gallery Openings & Private Previews

Golf at Château de Méridon

Le Golf National, with a private château fifteen minutes away.

One of the great courses of Europe, and a royal château to come back to after each round.

Le Golf National, in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, hosted the Ryder Cup in 2018 and the Olympic golf tournament in 2024, and welcomes the Open de France every year. Its Albatros course is regularly ranked among the most demanding and most beautiful in the world.

Château de Méridon is fifteen minutes away. Privatised for your group, the château becomes your own clubhouse. You come back here after each round, walk in the parkland, and talk over the day at dinner in the grand salon.

The Experience

On the Course

We arrange private tee times at Le Golf National on the Albatros course, with the Aigle for warm-up rounds. During the Open de France, we can organise hospitality access on the days that suit your group, so you follow the tournament as guests rather than spectators.

At the Château

A golf stay has its own rhythm: early starts, late breakfasts and long lunches on the forecourt. The private chef works around your tee times. In the evening, the round is replayed over dinner in the grand salon and the next day is planned.

Beyond Golf

For a rest day, Versailles is twenty minutes from the course and twenty-five from Château de Méridon. Paris is easy to reach for an afternoon, and we can invite a sommelier to the château for an evening devoted to wine.

A French Thanksgiving at Château de Méridon

Five days in a royal château, for American families in France.

The same table and the same people, but this year it is set in a French château.

Thanksgiving is the one holiday that is all about family. There are no presents to open and no ceremony to follow, just a long meal with the people you love most.

At Château de Méridon, that table is laid in a 13th-century royal residence forty minutes from Paris, in the soft light of a French November. The chef brings the best of the season's produce, the salon is lit and the wines are chosen in advance. For five days, the château is reserved for your family alone.

The Five Days

Day One — Arrival

We welcome your family from 4pm with Champagne in the grand salon. The fires are lit, a gift basket is waiting in every suite, and you share a first dinner together at the château.

Day Two — Paris

Your driver takes you into Paris for the day. You might explore the Marais, the galleries or the couture houses, see the previews for Sotheby's autumn sales or catch a performance at the Opéra de Paris. Lunch is booked at a Michelin-starred restaurant, and you are back at Château de Méridon for the evening, ready for the big day.

Day Three — Thanksgiving Day

The chef arrives early, and by late morning the house smells of the feast. There is time for a walk in the autumn park before you sit down to your Thanksgiving table in the grand salon, with your own family traditions. The evening lasts as long as you like, with no flight to catch.

Days Four & Five — The Days After

Spend a day at Versailles, where the gardens are at their most beautiful in autumn, or take a cooking class with the chef. After a last dinner at Château de Méridon, check-out is at 4pm on the fifth day. If you would like to stay on, just let us know.

What Is Included

  • Exclusive privatisation of the whole estate
  • All château spaces: salons, ballroom, glasshouse and parkland
  • Up to 34 overnight guests across 12 suites and bedrooms
  • A personalised gift basket in every suite
  • Welcome Champagne on arrival
  • The Thanksgiving feast, prepared by a private chef with French produce and served in the grand salon

A Royal Christmas at Château de Méridon

Five days of Christmas in a royal château near Paris.

Christmas at Château de Méridon is spent by the fire, with the whole house to yourselves.

In December, Château de Méridon is very quiet. The old trees are bare, the fires are lit before you arrive, and the château has been decorated for the season with a light touch. Everything that would usually need your attention has already been taken care of.

For five days, the estate is reserved for your family. There are no other guests, no reception desk and no set programme. The house has welcomed remarkable guests for nine centuries, and Paris is forty minutes away whenever you want to go in.

The Five Days

Day One — Arrival

We welcome your family from 4pm with Champagne and a table of seasonal treats. Each suite has a gift basket prepared for its guests, and the rest of the evening is yours.

Days Two & Three — Christmas

On Christmas Eve, a private chef serves dinner by candlelight in the Grand Salon. Christmas morning starts slowly, with breakfast and a walk through the gardens in the winter light, followed by a long Christmas lunch. The fires stay lit throughout.

Day Four — Paris & Versailles

Your driver can take you to the Christmas markets in Saint-Germain, around Notre-Dame or in the Marais, or to Versailles first thing in the morning, while the gardens are still empty. We can also arrange private shopping appointments at the couture houses of the 8th arrondissement. You are back at Château de Méridon in the evening.

Day Five — Departure

A last breakfast together and a final walk in the gardens before check-out at 4pm.

What Is Included

  • Exclusive privatisation of the whole estate
  • All château spaces: salons, ballroom, glasshouse and parkland
  • Up to 34 overnight guests across 12 suites and bedrooms
  • A personalised gift basket in every suite
  • Welcome Champagne and a seasonal table on arrival
